From the challenge of forgetting what has been learned

Every tennis player has stored movement patterns and calls them up during the game.

Anyone who has learned tennis from the beginning with a trainer and has continuously improved it has movement patterns that enable a safe and fast shot and can be further developed.

However, many players start with a few coaching lessons and then play tennis only with friends. So everyone develops their own movement patterns. With these it is quite possible to throw the ball over the net and have fun. The limits of tennis in self-study range from the feeling that you can hardly develop to pain in the arm.

Further development – the improvement of the familiar shot – is the goal of many tennis players.
Wrong movement patterns hinder the way to the optimal swing.

2-step learning process for success

Letting go of learned patterns -> fixing an improved movement

How do you learn effectively?

In classic training, the player sees the trainer performing the correct movement and imitates it.
The player only learns of his own mistakes through the explanation of the coach.

A far more efficient method of correcting your own mistakes is self-observation.

In the optimal variant, it is self-observation combined with the representation of a correct movement.

Video analysis

The movement of the player is filmed and simultaneously imported into the analysis software.
The difference to the professional is immediately visible on the monitor.

How does the video analysis work?

The recorded video is imported into the analysis software during the training.
The difference to the professional’s stroke is immediately visible.

Together with the trainer, the player decides what change is to be made and practices this without the ball to anchor the new movement.

Then the ball is played again and tries to keep the changed movement.

After successful strokes, the change is assessed with video analysis.

What is special about this training?

easy letting go of learned patterns through introspection

Concentration on one shot (forehand, backhand, volley, serve, smash)

immediate recognition of the possibility of improvement

Analysis with an experienced trainer

Testing the improved movement without the ball
(Anchor at rest)

Learning the improved movement with the ball
(Fixing in stress)

Sending a “before / after” video after training

Videos can be accessed on a secure server
